The Joint Commission
In October 2006, the Eastern Colorado Healthcare System received an unannounced triennial visit and received full accreditation. Over a five-day period our medical center campuses, primary and extended care center and community health centers were reviewed under the Hospital, Long Term Care, Home Care, and Behavioral Health program standards.
National Commission for Quality Assurance (NCQA) & American Association for the Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) Accreditation
In July 2004, the facility Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) received full accreditation (3 years) from the National Commission for Quality Assurance (NCQA), and the veterinary care and use program received full accreditation (3 years) from the American Association for the Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) in 2003.
Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)
In November 2006, ECHCS received accreditation for inpatient and outpatient Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service, Mental Health Homeless program, and Work Therapy programs. The report noted, "ECHCS demonstrates in depth collection data from the person served and its other stakeholders with excellent utilization of this information in its strategic planning process. ECHCS benefits from the strong cohesive leadership teams that demonstrate a clear communication of the VA mission and vision and are supportive of the rehabilitation programs."
