Visiting Hours and Policies

Visiting hours are based on the needs of the patient, and visitors are encouraged to discuss any special visiting needs with the unit's head nurse. Whenever possible and medically appropriate, the nurse will coordinate special visiting arrangements to meet patient and family needs.

If you are unable to visit a patient personally, you may call the patient or send a card or gift.

Number of Visitors

The number of visitors and the time allowed with patient will be at the Nursing staff's discretion.

Food and Beverages

Visitors may not bring food or beverages to patients without authorization from unit physicians or nurses.

Minor Children Under 15 Years of Age

Children under 15 are not allowed in the patient care areas (wards and treatment rooms) unless a responsible adult accompanies them. Unless otherwise specified by a physician or charge nurse, inpatients may visit with younger children in the waiting rooms provided by the elevator lobbies.

Clergy

Members of the clergy are welcome to visit patients who are members of their particular religious group at any time at the discretion of the unit physicians or nurses.

Exceptions

Physicians, in collaboration with the patient's primary nurse and Nurse Manager have the authority to grant permission to allow visitors to remain on inpatient nursing units and waiting rooms outside routine visiting hours when visiting inpatients with special needs.

8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. daily

 

Intensive Care Units

10:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
daily

 

Psychiatry 7th Floor

5:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. daily

 

Nursing Home Care Unit

Generally unrestricted unless curtailed by patient care concerns
