Acting Director, Director's Office
The Interim Director Mr. Duane Gill has served over three years as the Associate Director of VA Central Western Massachusetts Healthcare System. Before that, he served as the Senior Health System Specialist and Acting Assistant Director at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital in Columbus, MO. Gill enhances the VA ECHCS team with extensive experience and oversight pertaining to Resource Management, Facilities Management, Human Resources, Logistics, Environmental Management, Safety, Business Office, Police and Strategic Planning. Gill earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Eastern Kentucky University and a master’s degree in management from Indiana Wesleyan University. Mr. Gill served in the US Navy.

Acting Deputy Director
Ms. Shannon Newell who has been our Assistant Director since October 1, 2018, will be the Acting Deputy Director. Newell is an Army Veteran, West Point graduate and most recently represented VA ECHCS as the Project Eagle Executive, focused on construction completion at the RMR VAMC and our move to this facility.

Executive in Charge of Operations
Ms. Nelida (Nellie) Flores, the Chief of Pharmacy, will be the Executive in Charge of Operations. Ms. Flores received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Texas at Austin and University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1996. She completed a Post Graduate Year One Pharmacy Practice Residency at ECHCS in 1997 and a Post Graduate Year Two Ambulatory Care Specialty Residency at ECHCS in 1998.

Chief of Staff
Dr. Clifford Parmley joined ECHCS in October 2018 from Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was their Chief of Staff. He attended medical school at Loma Linda University in California through an Air Force scholarship program and was assigned to Lackland Air Force Base for his anesthesiology residency. He completed his military commitment in San Antonio and worked in private practice near Houston before taking a brief detour from medicine. He pursued his law degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston and worked briefly in medical malpractice before returning to medicine. He is board certified in Anesthesiology and Critical Care and is a Fellow of both the American College of Legal Medicine and American College of Critical Care Medicine. He is truly an impressive individual and a great addition to our team.

Associate Director, Patient Care Services
Claudia Blakeley | 720-723-4800
Acting in the role of Assistant Director will be Ms. Claudia Blakeley. Ms. Blakeley has been the Chief of Human Resources for ECHCS since February 2018. She has served in various Human Resources roles including work at VISN 7 and VISN 10, and at the VA Ann Arbor Health Care System where she started her VA career in 2009. Ms. Blakeley is a proud US Marine Corps Veteran.
