Fisher House

Welcome!

The Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center Fisher House in Aurora, Colorado, is a “home away from home.” Our mission is to provide housing to family members of Veterans or active duty service members who are hospitalized at the VA or at a community hospital under VA authorization. The Fisher House enables families to be close to their loved ones by providing comfortable lodging, in a beautiful and relaxing setting, on the grounds of the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center (RMRVAMC). Families stay at the Fisher House free of charge.

Eligibility Requirements

The Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center Fisher House welcomes guests that meet the following eligibility requirements:

• Guests must be a family member or caregiver of the Veteran or active duty service member who are in-patients at the RMRVAMC or a local community hospital
• Guests must reside more than 50 miles from the RMRVAMC
• Guests must be self-sufficient and able to independently care for themselves or be accompanied by a caregiver
• Guests must be able to stay in an unsupervised setting and abide by all house guidelines and regulations

Amenities

The Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center Fisher House is a 12,000 square foot home which offers 16 spacious ADA guest suites, each with a private bathroom. Each room is equipped with a TV, Wi-Fi, and a telephone for local calls.

Guests share a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, dining room, living room with a guest computer, family room and an outdoor patio. Other features include a laundry room and an elevator.

Arrangements to Stay at the Fisher House

To make arrangements for families or loved ones to stay at the Fisher House, contact your  Social Worker, Nurse or Physician to enter a consult. Consults must be entered 24 hours in advance of the requested check-in date. Rooms are assigned on a first come, first served, space available basis.
